Neurotoxins are wrinkle-relaxing injections of botulinum toxin — commercially known as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®, or DAXXIFY™ — used to treat wrinkles, frown lines, and crow's feet.

A small amount of neurotoxin is injected directly into facial muscles, causing them to relax and gradually smoothing the appearance of the overlying skin. The effects generally last around three months.

Neurotoxins not only prevent and reverse signs of aging — they've been proven to help ease areas of tension, including the forehead, eyes, and jaw (TMJ).

  • Neurotoxins take effect between five and seven days post-injection. Complete optimization occurs around day 14 and results may last approximately three months.

  • Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid and add volume and symmetry to areas of concern. Injectable neurotoxins instead relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles through repetitive movement, like furrowing or raising the eyebrows, squinting, frowning, and smiling.

  • After your appointment, you may notice redness around the injection sites that can later form minor bruises. Some tenderness at the injection site is common. Symptoms typically resolve within a few days.
